We brought together an intimate group of talented local creatives for a day dedicated to exploring the intersection of writing, youth empowerment, and the transformative power of Bitcoin.

We kicked things off with fun icebreaker games. It was a fantastic opportunity for participants to connect, share their creative journeys, and bond before diving into the heavy-hitting topics of the day.

Bitcoin: A Tool for Human Rights

Our first major session took a deep dive into the philosophy behind Bitcoin. We discussed how it was intentionally created as a decentralized tool to support disenfranchised communities and promote financial inclusion.

A major highlight of this talk was exploring the mystery of Bitcoin’s creator. By stepping away and fading into oblivion, the creator eliminated a human point of failure, allowing the network to thrive as a truly global, open-source project.

Borderless Earnings for Creatives

For writers and artists, getting paid by foreign clients can often be the hardest part of the job. We broke down how Bitcoin is changing the game by enabling creatives to earn a sustainable living. By embracing this technology, our participants learned how they can receive instant, borderless payments from clients and supporters anywhere in the world without going through the pain of traditional financial hurdles.

It wasn’t all about Bitcoin talks! Our very own Bitwriters Editor took the stage to share her wealth of experience as a working journalist.
